About Us

The Jimmy Hillbillies are three lasses and four lads, they perform with mixed vocalists and combine a wide collection of traditional instruments (Accordion, Melodica, Mandolin, Banjo, Tin Whistle, Bass and Drums) with the not so common Cow-Bell, Washboard and Digeridoo to create a unique sound that crosses the genres of hoedown, country songs and cowpunk.

The Jimmy Hillbillies sing about dancing chickens, mule trains, surfing, lost love, found love, drinking, great nights out and wearing stomping boots, all of Dorset fave past times. You will not be able to hold back, its a must to get up and dance!

Dorset’s happiest music, hoedown music, has its roots in the country, old-time folk and cowpunk of the Dorset music scene. The Jimmy Hillbillies high-energy performances rouse their audiences, transporting them to a happy, care-free place where its good to sing, dance, stomp and even chicken-conga along to their break-neck tunes.
