The first in the new 2018 – 19 Season of live satellite broadcasts direct from London to the big screen at the Regent in Christchurch opens with a brand new production of Julie (15), which will be screened at the Centre on Thursday 6 September 7pm

BAFTA Award-winning actress, Vanessa Kirby (The Crown), and Eric Kofi Abrefa (The Amen Corner), star in the cast of this brand new production, directed by Carrie Cracknell (NT Live: The Deep Blue Sea).

Wild and newly single, Julie throws a late night party. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Jean and Kristina clean up as the celebration heaves above them. Crossing the threshold, Julie initiates a power game with Jean, which rapidly descends into a savage fight for survival.

This is a new version of August Strindberg’s classic play, Miss Julie and has been written by Polly Stenham.  It remains shocking and fiercely relevant in its new setting of contemporary London.
